Bloodborne Pathogen
This class can be taken as a standalone online course or as an add-on to any of our other class types, with the option available during registration.
Designed for individuals at risk of on-the-job exposure to blood and bodily fluids, the course adheres to the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard requirements. It teaches participants how pathogens are spread, ways to avoid exposure, and the necessary actions to take after exposure.
After completing the course, students should discuss their workplace’s specific policies and procedures with their employer. The course covers topics such as the chain of infection, understanding bloodborne pathogens and their transmission methods, workplace safety practices, preventing exposure incidents through various controls, personal hygiene, proper equipment and supply cleaning and disinfection, recognizing, reporting and following up on employee exposure, maintaining a safe environment, and safely removing contaminated gloves.
